itself with supplying the retail/trade with all options of radiator repairs, re-cores,
completes, top tank replacements & cleanouts but our most successful market
is the reconditioning of Automotive & light commercial radiators even as large
as trucks & earthmoving. The process of selecting a radiator that is
suitable for reconditioning is quiet easy we, * Test the radiator for
leaks * Remove the top tank for internal cleanout * Reassemble top tank
once parts have been sand blasted & prepped * Resolder tank, spouts &
filler neck * Repair any other obvious leaks that could soon occur *
The radiator is then pressure tested * All fins straightened & then the
radiator is painted. All radiators are then classified with a number. This
number is to determine what condition it is in as well as a suitable warranty
term. The biggest problem with radiators
failing is from cracks forming in brass/plastic tanks & the brass radiator
soldered seams cracking between the join of the brass tank & the core.
This can all be fixed & tanks can be replaced on most common vehicles.
If a tank can not be brought the experience staff at Hi-Tech Radiators will fabricate
a tank to suit either in Alloy, Brass or Steel for some larger radiators.
We keep a large range of plastic tanks, grip plates & o-rings on the shelf
to service all late model vehicles from VN Commodores, EA Falcons to Honda's &
Toyota's, which are all common models to have plastic tanks crack. This
is the main reason we end up with radiators that we can recondition because we
can only usually give 6mths to 12mths warranty when some customers would prefer
a 2 yr commercial or a 5 yr nation wide warranty for the extra money. The
main reason you the customer would be better off with a reconditioned radiator
would be if you are selling or about to sell you're vehicle. When there is
not enough funds to buy a new radiator because of other financial commitments,
If it is something to get you by until you had the funds to purchase a new radiator
& believing that it will get you by for a period of time. If the customer
has more important repairs to do on the vehicle, so by buying a reconditioned
radiator the customer can save money to then spend it on more important items
such as tyres etc. This is a great idea for "do it yourself home mechanics"
to save time & not have to wait for the radiator to be repaired, they can
just purchase one straight from the shelf. For trade customers it is a quicker
turn around with our free pick up & delivery meaning there is only a one way
trip needed. Please don't be afraid to ask if we have other items like Intercoolers
for cars & trucks as well as radiators & oil coolers for trucks &
earthmoving please ring Hi-Tech staff today.
